Filling Hole in Asphalt

This is a parking lot in Madison WI. The owner of this property noticed a small hole that had formed in his asphalt. He took a closer look at it, realizing it was more than he wanted to deal with, He called Mud Tech.
Mud Tech has encountered this type of problem before. Sometimes when the base material is not compacted properly, or there is high water tables, soft spots can form. In this case it was the former. The base material was compacted, but not enough. Cars are constantly driving over this area, and the weight of an auto can cause some real problems for pavement.
Using a combo of Mud Tech equipment, First we pumped a high grade concrete into the void to ensure that it would not settle. After 4 days the concrete was rock hard, and we then used our Infrared patch truck to bond a new layer of hot asphalt over this sink hole.
(please see asphalt section for photo of Infrared Patch)
